Taking the Mystery Out of Tension

Instructor: Mike Gilomen
Time: 1:00-2:00
Location: Room 2

Description: An overview of adjusting tension and understanding why balanced tension in the fabric when sewing does not mean the tension on the top and bobbin threads are the same.  In fact you will learn the top thread is actually 10 times that of the bobbin tension when the sewn results are balanced. A complete demonstration of using the TOWA bobbin case gauge and a Top Tension Gauge will be used, although I will be showing how to do without such tools as well. I will cover thread control as well as different ways to tension thread.  If you want to be a thread artist this is especially a class not to miss.
